6 Tips To Help Avoid Acne Breakouts from Halloween Makeup

No Halloween costume is complete without a dramatic (sometimes scary) face of makeup! However, wearing that heavy makeup even just for a few hours can turn your dreams of glowing skin into a nightmare of acne breakouts. Lucky for you, we’ve compiled our best tips to avoid acne breakouts from Halloween makeup. Rock your full glam or super scary makeup look with confidence!

Tip #1

Don’t use any products with isopropyl myristate. While this ingredient helps make products glide across your skin easier, it’s also known to cause breakouts in some people. If you’re looking to avoid acne flare ups this Halloween, we recommend avoiding makeup with this ingredient.

Purchase your makeup products ahead of time and do a “trial run” on a small area to determine if the products will cause a breakout. We recommend placing the makeup on your cheek or neck and leaving it there for a few hours—or however long you plan to wear the makeup on Halloween. Then wash it off as you normally would.
